Meet our new patron!

Talented singer-songwriter, Rhys Lewis, is the new patron of the Oxfordshire Discovery College. Announced on World Mental Health Day, Rhys is excited to champion the Discovery College cause!

It’s a real honour to become patron for the Oxfordshire Discovery College (ODC). Growing up I struggled with what I now know to be anxiety, and still struggle with it today. I would have really benefited from having a place like ODC to go to - a safe space to ask questions and learn about my own mind. The modern world we live in is increasingly becoming more and more challenging to navigate mentally, so it’s vital that we give young minds the skills to cope with and better understand their own mental health. I feel very lucky to have found an outlet for my thoughts and emotions through music, so I’m excited to be a small part of this amazing team committed to encouraging, educating and inspiring young minds to think and live well. - Rhys

Kicking off the new partnership with a weekly Record Club, Rhys will be hosting the club on his social media channels from the 11th of October - 1st of November. Getting young people and local music businesses involved, we can’t wait to bring together music, young people, mental health, and local business all in one place.
